New STQC Mandate for CCTV in India

(Effective April 9, 2025) The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has mandated STQC Certification for all CCTV systems sold or deployed in India. From April 9, 2025, the sale and use of non-compliant CCTV models will be strictly prohibited.

Why This Matters This regulation shifts the evaluation of CCTV systems from basic hardware compliance to cybersecurity resilience. It ensures that surveillance systems are secure, tamper-resistant, and fully protected against hacking and data breaches..

Core STQC Requirements
• Cyber Secure: Mandatory HTTPS/TLS encryption and secure firmware update mechanisms.
• Tamper Proof: Physical protection to prevent unauthorized hardware access.
• Zero Default Policy: A ban on default passwords; secure configuration is required from the very first use Project Impact.
• Non-certified products will be removed from BIS listings.
• Projects using non-compliant equipment risk rejection, significant delays, and regulatory penalties.

KVM Security Solutions ensures full compliance with the latest MeitY & BIS-STQC standards, keeping your projects future-ready.
